He has served as a Pastor to Single Adults, Pastor to Missions, Executive Pastor as well as Lead/Senior Pastor. He has studied at The Stephon Olford Center for Expository Preaching and Fruitland Bible Institute. He has a Bachelor degree in Biblical Studies and Master’s degree in Christian Studies from Luther Rice Seminary and University. He believes God has called him to teach/preach the Bible, help churches and people find their mission and purpose, so they can join God’s work in their city and the world.
Freddy’s life verse is 1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!” And God granted what he asked.
On his day off, he can be found spending time with his family and he loves sports of all kinds with football, basketball and “Shuffling” (used to be called running) being his primary focus.
PASTOR STEVEN GIBSON
STUDENT & NEXT STEPS PASTOR
Steven and his wife, Emily met at Shandon Baptist in 2011 while participating in the Awana Clubs ministry. Steven and Emily began the exciting next chapter of their lives together on July 15, 2017. Steven is a graduate of Columbia International University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry and Bible. Currently a student of Southeastern Baptist Theology Seminary in Wake Forest, NC, Steven is working towards obtaining his Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Christian Ministry. Since 2013, Steven has served in student ministry working in Aiken County Public School District as a staff member and as the Youth Minister at Redd’s Branch Baptist Church. Steven is excited to serve in Student Ministry at North Point Community Church and watch students and families grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Steven’s favorite verse is Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Steven enjoys time with his family, walking his dogs, Sam and Luke, reading, and catching as many fish as will bite.
